BIENVENIDA

Comenzamos un nuevo año escolar y, con él un nuevo desafío.
Una vez más, los alumnos se acercan con su expectativas por mejorar y el deseo de alcanzar una meta. Una meta que, quizás, haya quedado pendiente o postergada en otro momento y que, por ello hoy cobre una significación tan importante.
Para nosotros, los docentes, un nuevo ciclo escolar representa la posibilidad de transferir todo aquello que sabemos, con respeto, comprensión y afecto, pero a la vez, en un entorno de vínculos, historias de vidas y modalidades de aprendizaje distintas, que tendremos que descubrir.

Las razones por las que, tantos alumnos como docentes, coincidimos aquí, en este tiempo y ámbito escolar, son diferentes y variadas. Pero a todos, finalmente, nos une un mismo motivo y una misma creencia: sabemos que aprender es crecer, aprender es mejorar y superarse. Y es a través del camino de la educación permanente, que estará viva la esperanza de una mejor calidad de vida y la posibilidad de elevar nuestra propia estima y nuestra dignidad como personas.

The lucky pencil



There are a lot of superstitions in the world.
People believe in enchanted objects and witches; they think that those special things will give them bad or good luck.

We have learnt about a different superstition which Odettte has told us about.
A long time ago, back in the fifties, when Odette was a young girl, her mother used to believe in all kind of superstitions.
She taught her all the secrets in order to become a successful woman in her life.
She remembered what her mother said: “Use the same pencil you used when you studied for the exam, because it will help you remember everything and you will pass the exam successfully".

lf her mother hadn't told her about the pencil, she wouldn't have done a good exam.

SUPERSTITION: TO BELIEVE OR NOT TO BELIEVE

The word superstition comes from the Latin word ’supertitio’ that means survival.-
Superstitions were known 3.000 years B.C.
The main cause of superstitions is the fear of the unknown things, and ignorance. However, many clever people, such as writers of all times, were, are or, in the end , will be superstitious.
For example, Somerset Maughan became one when a woman cursed him because he wasn’t generous with her. Since then, he used a symbol against bad luck and, what is more, he drew it on his manuscript
The arrival of the sciences meant the end of the superstitions... but only of some.-
Most superstitions lack any logic... but, sometimes, they help people to calm down!
